Botox is particularly useful for eliminating unwanted facial expression lines, such as the vertical “frown line” between the eyebrows. It’s also a superb treatment for horizontal lines on the forehead, “smile” or “crow’s feet” lines around the eyes, vertical lines on the upper lip and the downturned corners of the mouth.

A small amount of Botox is injected directly into the muscle, which decreases the muscle contraction and thus the repeated creasing of the skin, which causes the lines.

The effects from Botox are noticeable after five days and peak after two weeks. Gradually, over a period of three to five months, the Botox wears off, and the muscles will regain their function. Treatment is repeated as needed. Care is taken to not overtreat to maintain a natural, healthy appearance.

The majority of our patients tolerate Botox exceptionally well and don’t experience much pain from the injections. Our team can apply a topical numbing cream if you would like; however, most patients do not need this additional step.
