During a laser treatment, the light energy from the laser is absorbed by the blood vessels, causing them to close down and subsequently be absorbed by the body. The result is brighter and clearer skin with less discoloration.

If you suffer from superficial veins — also called “spider veins” — on the legs, chest and hands, you may also consider sclerotherapy, a procedure that involves injecting a solution into the vein, causing it to scar, collapse and fade.
